Annual Meeting Highlights

The V.I.H.A. Annual Meeting was held on January 23 during which key issues affecting our community were discussed.  Residents enjoyed a Social Hour, sponsored by Northstar Realty, beforehand. 

Below are the highlights of the meeting for those of you who were unable to attend:

• Officer Don Herring of the St. Petersburg Police Dept. provided crime statistics for Venetian Isles.  There has been relatively little activity over the past 3 months aside from three car burglaries.  Don  urged residents to lock their cars and close their garage doors to prevent thefts.
• Guest Speaker, John Romano, Metro Columnist for the Tampa Bay Times shared his thoughts on two provocative topics that will be the basis for upcoming columns. 
• V.I.H.A. President, Rich Scanlon, led the Business Meeting covering the following topics:
  • 2018 Board Elections
  • 2017 Accomplishments
  • 2018 Goals
  • Budget breakout by spending category
